BISMARCK, ND—The Bismarck Fire Department extinguished a fire at a single-family residence on the south side of town on Monday evening.
At approximately 9:37 PM on March 17th, 2025, the Bismarck Fire Department received a call for a structure fire at a single-family dwelling in the 3800 block of Poseidon Loop. Bismarck Fire crews were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at 9:46 PM to find a single-family house with smoke coming from the front door and eves. Firefighters entered the home with charged hose lines through the front door. Once inside, they found heavy smoke conditions on the main level. Fire crews located the fire in the kitchen area involving the stove and cabinets, and quickly put it out. Additional fire crews searched the house and confirmed that everyone was evacuated. During the search two pets were found and were removed from the house. Once the fire was out an overhaul operation was conducted to find and extinguish any smoldering materials.
No injuries were reported to the occupants of the home or to firefighters.
The fire damage was contained to the room of origin, while there was smoke damage throughout the rest of the house. A fire investigation was conducted, and the cause was determined to be accidental and related to cooking.
