Several streets in the city of Bismarck are closed, because of flood fighting efforts. Drivers should take alternate routes, if possible.
Here’s a list of streets that are currently closed:
• Bismarck Expressway – from Main Avenue to Washington Street. Traffic IS allowed to cross Expressway, but truck traffic has priority. Police officers are stationed at intersections to direct traffic.
• Riverwood Drive – closed at Westwood Drive.
• South Washington Street – closed at Munich Drive.
Drivers are also advised to avoid Exit 161 on Interstate 94. Trucks hauling clay for the levees being built are using that exit. Those trucks have priority, and all other vehicles are being delayed to let trucks through.
