[ARCHIVED] Johnke Selected to Change Network Learning Experience

Katie JohnkeCity of Bismarck employee Katie Johnke has been selected to join the 2023-24 North Dakota Change Network, a yearlong learning and support experience for individuals creating more equitable and welcoming environments where they live and work.


Johnke joins 21 other North and South Dakotans for the experience. Participants were selected from a pool of applicants from throughout the state and Native nations that share its geography based on projects they lead to drive change in their organizations and communities.  


“Being a part of the Change Network gives me the opportunity to help create a more accessible and livable community through skills and tools that can help support the framework for carrying out the mission of public health,” said Johnke, who has served as the Nutrition Services Coordinator for Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health and Wellness Coordinator for the City of Bismarck since 2013. 


Johnke is a Licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Lactation Counselor and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of North Dakota. She works in many capacities in the Bismarck community, promoting active transportation, healthy food systems, breastfeeding support, and community well-being. Additionally, Katie has experience working with federal and state-funded grant projects that aim to prevent chronic disease, improve maternal and child health, and support community livability.
