To ease traffic problems in the Southport neighborhood volunteers should carpool or ride the CAT bus to the area.
Volunteers who are sharing rides should park in the archery range parking lot on Riverwood Drive and walk to the homes where they’ll be helping. No parking is allowed on the street.
CAT buses are taking volunteers to the archery range parking lot on Riverwood Drive. From there, volunteers can walk to the Southport homes and assist homeowners.
Volunteers should meet in the southeast corner of the Kirkwood Mall parking lot (JC Penney wing). CAT buses are also taking volunteers to the city’s sandbag sites. Volunteers should specify whether they want to go to the sandbag sites or to the Southport neighborhood.
Buses will run every 30 minutes until midnight. Tomorrow, buses will run from 6:00 am until midnight to both the Southport neighborhood and the sandbag sites. After midnight, volunteers should contact Taxi 9000 at 223-9000 for transportation to Southport and to the sandbag sites.
