[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department responds to a deck fire.

At approximately 13:04 PM on Friday, May 22, the Central Dakota Communications Center received a report of smoke coming from the front porch of a trailer home on the 2500 block of East Broadway Avenue. The Bismarck Fire Department was dispatched to investigate. 


The first arriving fire crew reported fire showing under the deck of a trailer home. The fire crew established command, pulled hose lines to extinguish the fire. Additional fire crews arrived on scene and were assigned to secure a water supply and to conduct a search of the home. Once the fire was extinguished, an overhaul operation was conducted to find and extinguish any remaining smoldering material.


Six fire department apparatus and 17 firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The Bismarck Police Department assisted with scene control. Metro Area Ambulance was on scene to provide medical support. There were no injuries to first responders. The trailer home is vacant and was not occupied at the time of the fire. Fire and smoke damage was limited to the wooden deck. There was no fire extension to the interior of the home. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
