On Monday, November 6, 2017, at 10:38 AM the Bismarck Fire Department responded to a report of smoke and possible fire in the kitchen of this single family residence. Further information indicated that all people were out of the home.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered smoke coming from the residence. Fire attack hose lines were deployed and crews entered the structure. Power and natural gas lines were shut down as a safety precaution. Police Department assisted with scene control.
MDU and Fire Department Chaplain were asked to respond. Fire attack crews discovered a pan on the stove that had burned food in it. Family asked if we could look for their cat; cat was discovered and reunited with its owner. Crews ventilated the building to remove smoke. Home had light smoke damage. No one was injured in the fire.
