The Morton Burleigh Bismarck Mandan (MBBM) Opportunity Development Committee will hold a Public Input meeting August 18, 7:00 p.m., in the Tom Baker Room, City County Building, 221 North 5th Street, Bismarck. “Hosting regularly scheduled public input meetings where the citizens of our region (Morton and Burleigh Counties) can share their ideas with us is one of the tools that we decided would be helpful and productive”, said Mike Seminary, Bismarck City Commissioner, and Committee Chair.
The MBBM Opportunity Development Committee is a result of the Mayors’ Economic Development Advisory Group (MEDAG) effort authorized by Mandan Mayor Tim Helbling and Bismarck Mayor John Warford. “The twenty five plus member group felt it was imperative that we reactivate the MBBM (Morton, Burleigh, Bismarck, and Mandan) committee with the purpose of organizing efforts to enhance cooperation and collaboration between all boards, commissions, and other government entities”, said Seminary. “As our group began meeting one of the first steps we took was to draft the following mission statement: We, the members of the MBBM Committee, in an effort to preserve, enhance, manage and develop the collective human, financial, natural and manmade resources of our current and future citizens, will continually strive to identify meaningful opportunities and areas where we can collaborate and cooperate in a spirit of community.”
The public is invited to attend, participate and provide input to the open discussion. The meeting will be carried live on Government Access, cable channel 2 and online at www.freetv.org. Viewers may phone or e-mail questions and discussion items during the meeting. The meeting will also be replayed on Government Access and available for online viewing at www.freetv.org.
