The City of Bismarck invites the public to comment on its proposed 2012 Annual Action Plan and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application. CDBG funds must be used primarily for activities that benefit low and moderate-income persons. The City proposes to use its 2012 allocation of $282,058 and $1,450 in unspent funds from prior years as follows:
• Abused Adult Resource Center: $5,000 for operational support of its transitional shelter
• Burleigh County Housing Authority: $20,000 to improve accessibility to its office• Charles Hall Youth Services: $20,000 for renovation for Hall Home for at risk youth
• Citywide: $50,000 for accessible curb ramps• Community Action: $55,000 for housing accessibility (renters & owners)
• Heartview Foundation: $4,000 for parenting education• Lewis & Clark Regional Council: $25,000 for emergency repairs of owner occupied housing
• Lutheran Social Services: $2,000 for the Healthy Families Program• Ruth Meiers Hospitality House: $2,500 for operation of Joanne’s Clinic & $25,000 for renovation of Horizons (housing & activity areas)
• Salvation Army: $7,000 for prevention of homelessness• Welcome House: $9,000 for case management & emergency housing for homeless families
• West Central Human Service Center: $2,000 for emergency homeless assistance • Administration: $55, 008
• Contingency for public service activities: $2,000• Alternative if more funds become available: existing activities
The public may comment on the proposed plan as follows:
