Daren Malard joined the City of Bismarck in 2008 and serves as an Engineering Technician III. His responsibilities include the design and construction observation of water and sewer infrastructure rehabilitation projects and new development infrastructure projects. He works closely with contractors, consulting engineers, developers, property owners and the general public.
Daren's research has introduced new construction methods to make projects more efficient, cost-effective and less disruptive to the public. He has helped position the City as a regional leader in these construction techniques.
Daren is always willing to help solves issues and proves help to others whenever asked, not only within the department, but with other departments as well. He has also acted as a mentor to less experienced staff and interns in recent years.
"Daren has extensive experience and knowledge in construction and project management and is always willing to provide support to others on issues that inevitably arise during and prior to construction. He is a great asset to the department," said Design and Construction Engineer Ross Lagasse.
