The Bismarck Police Department is advising people to stay out of the Missouri River water areas.
“The river is unpredictable and the increased releases from the Garrison Dam have made the current much faster than normal. For their own personal safety, people should stay away from flooded areas,” says Bismarck Police Chief Keith Witt.
Witt says there could also be wash-outs or unstable ground in areas where there is no visible current and objects floating in the water also pose dangers.
