Homeowners looking for empty sandbags should go to the city’s manned and self-fill sandbag sites, NOT to the Civic Center. The Civic Center is open for pick up of pallets of filled sandbags ONLY.
The city’s three manned sandbag sites are open from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. The sites are located at:
• Sandbag Central North - Missouri Valley Fairgrounds (3805 E. Bismarck Expressway)
• Sandbag Central South - Northern Plains Commerce Center (1901 Northern Plains Drive
• Sandbag Charlie (521 South 22nd Street)
Volunteers are also needed at the self-fill sites, located at:
• Horizon Middle School (500 Ash Coulee Drive)
• Santa Fe Avenue, Cottonwood Complex west of South 12th Street
Volunteers are asked to bring a shovel, gloves and protective eye gear. Volunteers at the manned sites must register before they begin filling sandbags. Parental consent is required for those under age 18. Consent forms are available at all manned sandbag sites.
