[ARCHIVED] Bismarck Fire Department Responds to House Fire

BISMARCK, ND—The Bismarck Fire Department extinguished a fire at an unoccupied single-family residence in the central part of town on Monday evening.

At approximately 10:04 PM on March 31st, 2025, the Bismarck Fire Department received a call for a structure fire at a single-family dwelling in the 400 block of North Griffin Steet. Bismarck Fire crews were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 10:07 PM to find a single-family house with smoke coming from the front door and windows. Firefighters entered the home with a charged hose line through the front door. Once inside, they found heavy smoke conditions on the main level. Fire crews located the fire in the basement, a second line was deployed to the basement to extinguish the fire. Additional fire crews searched the house and confirmed that it was unoccupied. Once the fire was out an overhaul operation was conducted to find and extinguish any smoldering materials.

No injuries were reported to firefighters.

The fire damage was contained to the basement, and there was smoke damage throughout the rest of the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
