Bismarck Traffic Officers are investigating two crashes today that occurred this weekend. One crash led to the death of a 69-year-old woman and the other crash led to the serious injury of a 27-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man.
On May 18, around 10:25pm, a vehicle travelling west on the Bismarck Expressway struck two pedestrians crossing the street. The two pedestrians were walking southbound, not in a crosswalk around 2nd street. Both pedestrians were taken to a local hospital and are currently being treated for the injuries they sustained and are expected to make a recovery.
On May 19, around 7:00pm, a rollover crash occurred in the intersection of E Bismarck Expressway and S 9th St. A truck pulling a trailer driven by a 65-year-old man turned north on 9th Street in front of a passenger car driven by a 74-year-old woman who was driving west on Bismarck Expressway. The truck pulling the trailer rolled on its side after the collision and a 69-year-old female passenger had to be extricated. She later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Both crashes are under investigation by Bismarck Police Departments’ Traffic Section.
