Sandbag Central North, located at the Missouri Valley Fairgrounds (3805 E. Bismarck Expressway) is now open 24 hours a day. This site had previously been open from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm.
Sandbag Central South Northern Plains Commerce Center (1901 Northern Plains Drive) is also open 24 hours a day.
Two machines are being used to fill those sandbags, but volunteers are needed to assist in filling and tying sandbags. Volunteers should bring shovels and gloves.
Several other self-fill sandbag sites are also open to the public. Those sites are as follows:
• Ash Coulee Water Tower, West of Washington Street on Ash Coulee Drive
• Santa Fe Avenue, Cottonwood Complex west of South 12th Street
• Whispering Bay Subdivision, Shoreline Circle
• 48th Avenue and Sibley Drive (this site was previously located at Sibley Drive and Hester Drive)
• Ponderosa Park
• Hogue Island Boat Ramp
