[ARCHIVED] Sandbag Output Increased, Volunteers Needed

There is an urgent need for volunteers at Sandbag Central South, located at the Northern Plains Commerce Center (1901 Northern Plains Drive). The North Dakota National Guard has increased sandbag output there from 2,500 sandbags per hour to 5,000 sandbags per hour, but volunteers are needed to assist in filling and tying sandbags.

To ease traffic and parking issues at the site, volunteers are asked NOT to drive there, but instead, to meet in the southeast corner of the Kirkwood Mall parking lot (JC Penney wing). CAT busses are transporting volunteers from the mall to the sandbag sites where volunteers are needed. Buses are running every 15-20 minutes.

All volunteers must register before they can start working. Volunteers under age 18 must have a parental consent form signed. Forms are available online at www.bismarck.org and also at the sandbag sites.
