Amanda Bakkedahl is named the Business and Professional Women's 2016 Woman of the Year. Each year the Bisman Business and Professional Women honor a local business and professional woman that has distinguished herself in both her career and the community.
Amanda is a graduate of the University of Mary and has made Bismarck/Mandan her home for the last 17 years. In her professional life, she entered into Management at the age of 23 and has continued down that path to now be the Sales & Marketing Manager at the Bismarck Event Center.
Amanda is involved in many volunteer organizations around town. She is a longtime Special Olympics Bismarck Board Member and volunteers to coach Basketball, Volleyball and Soccer year around. She is also involved with the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber as an Ambassador and attends new business ribbon cuttings and welcomes them to the community. She is currently the Bismarck Optimist Club Vice-President and will be taking over the President role in October 2017.
Amanda has been a member of the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network since 2005 and has served as the Public Relations Coordinator, Ambassador Team Co-lead and Leadership Team Member. She is helping with the Arthritis Foundation of North Dakota “Walk to Cure Arthritis” event and is a new member of the Bismarck-Mandan Stiletto Group and is excited to help with the events they plan for the community!
Amanda says if she could make a living off of being a volunteer – she would do it! She loves to give of her time to the community and help others. If she can put an unexpected smile on someone’s face - that makes her day!
