[ARCHIVED] BBPH, Custer Health and Dakota Media Access Launch New TV Program

Bismarck Burleigh Public Health, Custer Health, and Dakota Media Access have joined in partnership to provide a new and exciting TV program for local citizens. The program, “This Is…Public Health, Central Dakota,” offers information and resources for citizens to improve and maintain healthy lifestyles. Each half hour segment focuses on a specific health related topic with information provided by public health subject matter experts.

Paula Flanders, Bismarck Burleigh Public Health administrator said, “We are excited to form this partnership. There are many public health resources available to the residents in our communities. We hope to use this program to, not only get that message out, but also to provide good health information.”

“This is about quality of life”, said Keith Johnson, Administrator for Custer Health. “OUR quality of life. This is where public health makes a difference in each of our lives, and I’m glad Dakota Media Access has provided us with a new, innovative way to distribute public health information to area residents.”

“This program has been in development for the past couple of years. It is both a wonderful opportunity and a great venue for local public health and Dakota Media Access to bring valuable health information to the residents of Bismarck/Mandan and the surrounding area,” said Mary Tello-Pool, Dakota Media Access volunteer host and community health nurse.

The program can be viewed at Dakota Media Access Government Channel 2. Program segments can also be accessed on demand via Dakota Media Access http://www.dakotamediaaccess.org/channel2/program-information/public-health-central-dakota/ or www.freetv.org; or at Bismarck Burleigh Public Health, and Custer Health websites www.bismarck.org/publichealth; www.co.morton.nd.us
