• Place items for special pick-up at your point of collection by 8:00 a.m. on your regular scheduled day.
• Collection crews will pick up the following items during spring and fall clean-up weeks only:
- Appliances - Building materials - Carpet - Furniture items - Sod, rocks, and dirt - Tires
• A separate truck will pick up the special items.
• Tree branches must be cut in 4-foot lengths and tied in bundles not more than 50 lbs.
• All loose materials must be boxed or bagged & tied.
• It is illegal to remove any refuse set out for collection.
• Hazardous waste will not be collected on the route. Take to HHW & Electronics recycling center.
Apartment ComplexesCity crews will not pick up appliances from apartment complexes. These items may be taken to the landfill. Charges will apply.

Located at the Bismarck City Landfill – 2111 N 52nd Street
Hours of Operation: 9am – 2pm Tuesday & Thursday and 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month
Household quantities of Hazardous Waste:
- Paint - Weed killer - Other chemicals
Electronics:
- Electronic equipment, televisions, stereos
- Computers, monitors, keyboards, and printers
- Telephones, fax machines
- Fluorescent lamps and ballasts
- Keep materials in their original containers if possible.
- Transport items in a plastic trash-bag lined, cardboard box to protect from leaking.
- No charge to City residents
