The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone age 6 months and older be vaccinated against the flu, especially people at high-risk for complications.
The flu shot is available to all people age 6 months and older. The nasal flu vaccine is approved for healthy people ages 2 to 49 that are not pregnant.
People who could spread the disease to those at high risk – such as health-care workers, out-of-home caregivers, parents and caregivers of infants younger than 6 months and household contacts – also should be vaccinated. Get vaccinated now so that you will be protected.
The cost for the Flu shot is $25.00, $30.00 for Flu Mist, and $35.00 for the high dose Flu shot. Please remember to bring your insurance cards and ID forms to the walk-in flu vaccination clinics. Bismarck Burleigh Public Health is able to bill Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicaid, and Medicare part B. BBPH is unable to bill Medicare Advantage Plans. Not all insurance companies cover the cost of the flu shot. Check with your insurance company if you have questions about coverage.
