Library cards are free to Burleigh County residents. You can get a library card by coming in person to the library, or you can apply online. Having a library card will provide you with access to our collection of over 250,000 items, as well as material through the Central Dakota Library Network. You will also gain access to our databases and digital material, including over 31,000 eBooks, 10,000 digital audiobooks, and over 140 digital magazines.
You must bring a current and valid North Dakota issued drivers license or a North Dakota issued non-driver identification card to register. If the address on your ID is not current, you must bring proof of address. If you registered online, you will be asked to show your ID and proof of address when you come in to pick up your library card.
If you are between ages 13-17, you can show ID or have a parent or legal guardian show us his or her ID to get a card.
Children under age 13 will need a parent or legal guardian present to get a library card.
If you live outside of Burleigh county you may register for a non-resident card at $20 per year.
If you don't have a permanent address or are in the area for a short period of time, please see us at the library.
