A Night at the Library for Bismarck Public Schools K-6 students and parents was a big hit!. There were a variety of informational sessions for parents, including library tours, Live Homework Help training, reading and math help, and child development issues.
A separate track of activities for children, including a story time with the library storytellers, a puppet show, and a special guest appearance by illusionist Scott McFall.

Library Book Club for Kids starts. A book club for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.

First book is "Shakespeare's Secret" by Elise Broach

March 24. The Library closed early due to snow.

March 30. The Library was closed all day. We got over 16 inches of snow. Bah!

Theater designer, director and performer Arch Ellwein shows an enthusiastic crowd of young people how to do "Movie Makup Magic" with common products found in the grocery store and in the kitchen. Recipe for "road rash".... syrup, bread crumbs, cocoa powder, food coloring gel (red for blood, green for pus), cold creme and a little bit of magic.

Summer Read-A-Thon. A beautiful day, lots of children, good stories. A wonderful recipe. 206 participants read for 186 hours.

Larry Woiwode has written numerous short stories, novels and poetry. He was awarded the Medal of Merit from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award. He has been a finalist for both the Book Critics Circle and the National Book Awards. His writings appear in four volumes of The Best American Short Stories. Larry Woiwode has been the Poet Laureate of North Dakota since 1995.
